Create New Profile in Outlook 2003 or 2002 (XP) 



To create a new email profile in Outlook 2003 or 2002 (XP):

        - On your computer go to Start Control Panel.
        - On your computer go to Start >         - Click “Switch to Classic View”; double-click the Mail icon.
        - In the Mail Setup dialog box click Show Profiles.    
        - On the General tab click “Prompt for a profile to be used”; click Add.
        - In the Profile Name box, type a descriptive name for the new e-mail profile; click OK.
        - In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click “Add a new e-mail account”; click Next.
        - Follow the steps for Outlook setup from article A3 in our Answer Center. Pick up from where it refers to "Add a new e-mail account". NOTE: While in the "Advanced" tab, do the following: select "Offline Folder File Settings", and for "File", change the default (typically "outlook.ost") to a new name, such as "outlook jan10.ost" (use today's date). Click OK. A prompt will ask you "Would you like to create it?", click Yes.

To configure Outlook to start with a specific email profile:

        - Click Start; click Control Panel.
        - Click “Switch to Classic View”; double-click the Mail icon.
        - On the General tab click “Always use this profile”.
        - In the “Always use this profile” list select the profile that you want to use; click OK.

To configure Outlook to prompt you for a specific email profile:

        - Click Start; click Control Panel.
        - Click “Switch to Classic View”; double-click the Mail icon.
        - In the Mail Setup dialog box click Show Profiles.
        - On the General tab, click “Prompt for a profile to be used”.
        - Click OK.
