Question Title How to map a folder from the network as a drive on your computer

If you need to map a folder from a file server (or host) from your network so you can see it as a drive on your computer, you have to follow the next steps :

1. Open the file server or the host so you can see the shared folders.
Go to Start - Run and type:    \\ <host_name or Ip Address<host_name or Ip Address>      , where this can be the name of the file server or host or its ip address , and press Enter on your keyboard.

After that a new window will appear with the shared folders of that file server or host.

2. Right click on the folder you want and select
Map Network Drive.

3. On the new window you are asked to select a letter for your new network drive. After that check the box to
Reconnect at logon. Press Finish.

To check your new drive, go to My Computer.
