Configuring Outlook 2003/2007 to work with Hotmail

Necessary Downloads You will need to also install the Genuine MS Validation tool if not already present, this will happen automatically upon attempting to download the Connector

Procedure:   You will need to have the Hotmail login (XXXX@hotmail.com) and password.

• Close MS Outlook
• Check for any Office/Windows updates, make sure it is on the latest revision

• Download the Genuine (if needed) and Outlook Connector programs
• Run all downloaded programs

• Open Outlook, go to Tools, Options, Mail Setup, Email Accounts

• Select ‘Add a new Account’ in the option menu

• Select HTTP

• Enter all information and select ‘Hotmail’ from the dropdown box, and Finish when completed

• Outlook should now have a window pop up asking to synchronize the Hotmail account and create a local PST file.   Do so and restart Outlook

• Hotmail should now have its own folder and directory under the ‘Folders’ tab, and synchronize
